:: false symmetry ::

Inspired by self-reflection and the theater of the domestic, my work reveals non-linear narratives and unexpected portraits. The fused and layered aspects of life in False Symmetry are both real and imagined explorations of identity in an ever evolving environment.

Each piece in this series combines vintage and contemporary found ephemera that are presented on pieces of reclaimed wood with encaustic, a blend of bees wax and natural resin. The results of upcycling found materials and combining them with original images create winding blends of dream, fantasy, illusion, and history, forming a reality of old, new, lost, and found.

Within this work discarded materials and stolen effigies are unified as a way to reclaim, experiment, and represent.
