This series of photo-quilts features image transfers onto fabric of vintage photographs of women. The portraits, very formal in their style, are surrounded by the wishes I imagine they might make, each represented by buttons. The wishes begin in the night sky and land as the foundation on which the women reside. The quilts are hand-stitched with new and reclaimed fabrics, vintage buttons, embroidery thread, and iron-on transfers of antique photographs and cartes de visite sourced from flea markets and yard sales.
